WEEK FIVE
How To Do List:
With the ideas gathered from the introduction to publicity methods so far, it is appropriate to know some key things to look for in the field.
The idea gathered from the week’s lecture specify the following.
(a) Message
(b) Audience
(c) Partnership
(d) Medium
(e) Methods
My understanding is that without these key ingredients, publicity would find it difficult to thrive it not fail completely.
WHAT I FOUND MOST INTERESTING IN THE LECTURE:
The explanations given about the above key pillars of publicity methods were superb and far reaching. The eventual sustainability and success of a programme depends on how well the campaigner marries the message, audience, partnership, medium and methods use for a campaign.
WAY I FIND IT TO BE MOST INTERESTING:
There variables are networked in that they complement one another.
The message will determine the audience to be reached out to. The audience will determine the medium use while the medium goes a long way to determine the kind of partnership to be used. These steps outlined will eventually determine the methods to be used to reach the target audience who are the eventual recipient of the publicity message.
HOW I WILL APPLY THIS LESSON IN DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION:
With this idea in mind, building a partnership for a publicity work and the eventual determination of a method and medium will not be a problem. Especially with the explanation given on building a partnership for a programme, I will try to nurture that partnership, sustain it and fall on the partner for more campaign in related fields or areas of interest.
